Group admission procedures at the Colosseo
In order to assure greater protection and safety to the monument and offer a memorable visit, the Archaeological Survey of Rome has instituted a new mandatory reservation service for organized groups which will observe the following procedures:

  • Users:

  1. the service is mandatory for organized groups composed of 14 persons or more, up to a maximum of 50, who are obliged to reserve the admissions shift and will receive radio-guide devices, offered free of charge for the visit and consigned at the “reservations desk”, for groups without theirs own radio-guide. To avoid possible radio interference, all external radio-guides employing the same channels as those used at the Coliseum will not be allowed:
    channel PMR446: Channel P01 446.00625; Channel P02 446.01875; Channel P03 446.03125; Channel P04 446.04375; Channel P05 446.05625; Channel P06 446.06875; Channel P07 446.08125; Channel P08 446.09375;
    channel LPD: Channel 01 433.0750; Channel 02 433.1000; Channel 03 433.1250; Channel 04 433.1500; Channel 05 433.1750; Channel 06 433.2000;
  2. groups of fewer than 14 members are exonerated from the above obligations; the group leader is not included in the maximum number.

  • Rates:

  1. reserving the admissions shift costs € 21,00 and includes admission of up to 14 persons; from the 15th onward, a supplement of € 1,50 per person will be paid directly at the desk.

  • Reservation and payment procedures:

  1. the admissions shift can be reserved at the Pierreci website, www.pierreci.it, with credit card payment, or by ringing the Pierreci call center at 06.39967700 with payment by bank transfer, credit card or postal money order, or by going to the APT (Azienda di Promozione Turistica) office at Via Parigi 5 in Rome to make cash payment;
  2. payment represents the purchase of only the admissions shift and not of the admission tickets which will instead be paid at the reservations desk at the time of the visit;
  3. a maximum of 4 reservations per day can be purchased at www.pierreci.it; in the event of requests for a greater number of shifts, and in any event no more than 10, purchase can be made by contacting the call center;
  4. reservations can be made at www.pierreci.it for maximum three months in advance; for longer reservation terms, contact the Pierreci call center at 06.39967700;
  5. call center reservation terms require payment be made within a maximum of 5 days from the date of request, after which time the reservation is automatically cancelled. A paid reservation can be modified within 5 days prior to the date of visit. Reservations made less than 5 days in advance and up to the day prior to the visit, will be paid on reserving (credit card payment with the call center and in cash at the APT and the ticket office at the Arch of Titus);
  6. for all reservation modalities, an alphanumerical code is issued which must be presented at the desk;
  7. transacted reservation payments can not be reimbursed; in case of absence, nothing is owed to the client;
  8. the rate for the educational visit also includes admissions reservation.

  • Admission to the site:

  1. visitors are required to be punctual at the ticket office for the established time of visit and to present the alphanumerical code; staff will be tolerant only for justified reasons; late arrival will delay entry to the following shift with availability;
  2. groups without a reservation can purchase the admissions shift at the cash desk for the same day, only if available; the cost remains unvaried. At the same time, from the cash desk they shall also purchase the admissions shift and tickets for all group members; the “reservations desk” indeed can not print tickets separate from an admissions shift.

  • Schools:

  1. Schools are required to reserve the admissions shift by calling 06.39967700; the cost is € 10,00. As already stated, groups of more than 50 members will absolutely not be admitted.
